Nacogdoches Toys for Tots

The Toys for Tots drive is underway at Tipton Ford Lincoln in Nacogdoches. The mission of the Toys for Tots program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community. The stated goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver a new toy at Christmas and a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters. Tipton Ford Lincoln is proud to partner with the United States Marines Toys for Tots program as a drop off location for the new unwrapped toys during normal business hours of the dealership Monday through Saturday. In addition to being a new toy drop off destination, Tipton Ford Lincoln will donate a new bicycle for every vehicle sold from November first through December eighteenth to the Toys for Tots campaign!

Free Conference for Caregivers

In recognition of National Family Caregivers Month, ETCOG’s Area Agency on Aging of East Texas has joined with the St. Louis Baptist Church of Tyler’s Comfort and Care Ministry to bring a free conference for caregivers, “Who cares? We do!”. The conference is designed to offer caregivers – families and individuals in East Texas caring for loved ones with chronic, disabling health conditions – with information and resources needed to carry out their role as caregiver. The conference will include presentations from local experts on Opiod Misuse Prevention, Medicare Enrollment, Services in the Aging Network, and featured presentations, “What Makes the Impossible, Possible,” from care recipient, Wendell Jeffery, and “Lessons Learned from Ms. Jessie & Me,” from motivational speaker, Lawandra Smith.

Red, White and You Hiring Fair

The Workforce Solutions East Texas is hosting the Red, White and You Statewide Hiring Fair on Thursday November 7, 2019 from 9:00am to 1:00pm at the Maude Cobb Convention Center located at 100 Grand Blvd. in Longview,Texas. This event is open to public and includes employers from various counties. The event is free to public.

Mini-Pumpkin Painting Party

2019 Bright Ideas for Leadership & Success Conference

The 7th bi-annual Bright Ideas for Leadership & Success Conference is a unique opportunity for nonprofit professionals across East Texas. This conference is aimed at supporting the important work of nonprofit leaders to run their organizations and achieve the greatest impact. The keynote, Josh Sundquist, is a motivational speaker who has inspired audiences across the world. Texas Walks

Texas Walks is a statewide event encouraging Texans to rally their friends, family, neighbors, classmates, and coworkers to get outside and walk together. Wherever you’ll be, whoever you’ll be with, pledge to walk for 10 minutes at 10am on November 8, 2019. All across Texas, we’ll be taking steps toward leading healthier lives and building healthier communities.

Special mornings each week the park opens up the ENTIRE park just for the little ones ages 5 and under. They can play while parents can relax and talk with other parents!

Winnsboro Art & Wine Festival

Second Saturdays

The Kilgore Public Library will now be open on the second Saturday of each month through November. Hours will be 9 AM- 1 PM. Upcoming Saturdays Include: September 14, October 12, & November 9. Library cards are available for free for all residents of Gregg, Harrison, Rusk, Smith, and Upsher counties with a valid photo ID and proof of residence.

Christmas in the Park Bazaar

his will be the 16th consecutive year, the small town of Winnsboro is celebrating the joining of churches in holding a huge Christmas Bazaar at the Winnsboro Civic Center located at 703 Wheeler Drive. Our hours are 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. We have a wide variety of craft items handmade by 15 local participating churches. Christmas gifts, holiday decor, jewelry, pies, cakes, candles, cookies, and tamales are just some of the items. In addition, you may purchase tickets to win a hand made quilt. Spend the day and have a homemade stew for lunch. All proceeds benefit the sponsoring churches’ ministries. No charge for entry or parking.

The 31st Annual Heritage Syrup Festival

The 31st Heritage Syrup Festival, is Saturday November 9th,2019 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Experience mule powered old time syrup making with folk artist, food, bands, antique tractors on Depot Museum grounds. Hayride shuttle to Downtown Historic District where you will find arts & crafts booths, retail vendor booths, food, antique and classic car exhibits, musical entertainment, cloggers & square dancers, children activities, Henderson Civic Theatre Melodrama and the Howard Dickinson House. Yoga & Beer at True Vine

Who out there made 2019 fitness resolutions? Let the gals and guys of BeFree Yoga Tyler help you hit those goals! Join us every second Saturday of the month for an hour-long yoga session at True Vine Brewing Company. Practice takes place under the pavilion or in the brewery, depending on the weather, and is led by one of the certified instructors of Be Free Yoga. After class, enjoy a tasty True Vine beer in the taproom or beer garden. Namaste and drink beer at True Vine – this is a SUPER fun way to spend a Saturday morning. Tickets available at the door for $10 and include an hour yoga session and a beer!

Coffee Class with Cafe 1948

On November 9 at 10 a.m. join us in the library’s 3rd-floor Makerspace for a coffee class with Cafe 1948. Cafe 1948 will be teaching patrons about various coffee brewing methods. Coffee is provided by Cafe 1948. Registration is required, you can sign up here.

Cherokee Craft & Trade Fair: Rusk 

Come out for specials just for you from our vendors! You will find a treat yourself. Admission is FREE – We would appreciate a can good for donation for the Hwy 69 mission. We have at least one event each month in Jacksonville and/or Rusk. Email me to get the schedule to you and/or watch this site and many other places online. Our events are indoors mainly, we may food trucks at the venues that are allowed. We are seeking vendors for our events.

Tyler MQG Quilt Show & Craft Fair

TMQG is hosting a collection of modern quilts. We will have vendors selling everything from painting, jewelry, and other handmade items. A Quilt Show and Craft Fair at Tyler Area Senior Citizen Association, TASCA, on Jim Russell Rd and 110 Hwy. Entry fee is $3 and children under 10 are free.

November’s Hit The Bricks

  • When: 10 a.m. – 11 p.m.
  • Where: Downtown Tyler
  • Cost: Free

On the second Saturday of every month, people from all over converge on Downtown Tyler for Hit the Bricks. Downtown Tyler will be bursting with family fun, entertainment, music, food, history tours, art, and of course, the chance to check out a great locally-owned restaurant, bar, or retail establishment. Fall Hayride and Family Day 

Bring the family and celebrate Fall with Friends of Lake O’ the Pines! Hosted by the US Army Corps of Engineers, there will be hayrides, games, and a fun challenge course. Enjoy spending the day outside and bring it to a close with a family movie cuddled in your blankets under the stars. This event is free for all ages and is volunteer driven. Night Under the Stars: Cardboard Box City

Family Friendly FUN with Live Music, Vendors and Food. Movie under the Stars and a Raffle for a Playhouse Cardboard Box City Building Competition with Prizes 2500 McCann Rd – on the lawn of St Andrew Presbyterian Church, Longview Benefiting Family Promise — Family Promise provides a safe place to live while the families work on becoming financially independent and on getting back into housing. Texas has 111,592 homeless children. Family Promise provides hope and help in the time of crisis.

Join the carolers at 6:00 p.m. as Gladewater’s Chamber Of Commerce lights the Giant Christmas Tree all beautiful and bright! He is looking forward to meeting all the boys and girls so come see what he can make for you! There’s a rumor goin’ round town that Santa has a plan. Free Outdoor Family Movie Night

Come spend the evening with your favorite toys on the big screen! It’s movie time again at Green Acres South, and this time it’s the fourth installment of this beloved family favorite cartoon. This time, we’ll be having a “drive-in” movie in our back yard. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets to set-up outside (weather permitting). We’ll provide M&Ms, popcorn, water, and maybe even have some door prizes!
