KilGogh Arts Festival 

The KilGogh Arts Festival is returning for the seventh year and this year we’re taking the theme “Gogh Big or Go Home” seriously with the biggest festival yet! Starting with the Exclusive Preview on Thursday, March 28, from 7pm-10pm which offers ticketed guests first viewing of the art exhibits, the opportunity to meet and mingle with the artists, artist’s seminars and demonstrations, wine, and cheese pairing with cheese from Scardello in Dallas, gourmet food stations and performances by local musicians. The annual KilGogh Art & Wine Exhibition is Friday, March 29 from 7pm-10pm in the Texan Theater and Old Post Office on S Kilgore St in Historic Downtown Kilgore. Tickets will be $25 and are available to purchase online. This special event will provide attendees an evening of art, entertainment, food from the Kilgore College Culinary Arts and wine tastings from local East Texas wineries. Don’t worry if you can’t decide which piece to buy, come back on Saturday, March 30, when the art exhibition is open for free to the public from 10am-2pm. The KilGogh Arts Festival aims to provide an opportunity for local and regional artists to exhibit their art and make the festival an East Texas art experience for the community. KilGogh attracts artists and visitors from across East Texas, the Shreveport/Bossier area and Dallas/Fort Worth region. Started by local art enthusiasts, this event has grown each year since its inaugural event in March 2013 and is now managed by the Kilgore Main Street program

Dogwood Trails Celebration

Over 80 years, Palestine has celebrated the Dogwood Trails Festival. enjoy the delicate beauty of the dogwood trees in Davey dogwood Park the last two weekends in March and first weekend in April. Activities are scheduled each weekend to compliment the Celebration

Ole Time Music & Dulcimer Festival

Some of the best dulcimer and old time music artist from around the country serve as headliners for the concerts and lead the workshops. Friday and Saturday are filled with live performances, jamming sessions, concerts & workshops.

Gilligan’s Island the Musical

Gilligan’s Island: The Musical is a family friendly stage musical version of the ever popular and iconic 60’s TV comedy show. Shipwrecked on a remote Pacific Island, the seven castaways build huts and begin to explore their surroundings. They discover strange hieroglyphics in a spooky cave, which speak of an ancient legend. The weather gets tough, Gilligan foils the best-laid of the castaway’s rescue plans–romance develops…the castaways have an out-of-this-world encounter…it’s fun, wacky and entertaining with 18 original, tuneful and memorable songs.

The Doo Wop Project

Love the classic sounds of Frankie Valli, The Drifters, The Del Vikings? Ever wonder what Maroon 5 would sound like if they had lived in the Doo Wop era? The Doo Wop Project begins at the beginning, tracing the evolution of Doo Wop from the classic sound of five guys singing tight harmonies on a street corner to the biggest hits on the radio today. In their epic shows DWP takes audiences on a journey from foundational tunes of groups like the Crests, Belmonts and Flamingos through their influences on the sounds of Smokey Robinson, The Temptations, and The Four Seasons all the way to DooWopified versions of modern musicians like Michael Jackson, Jason Mraz and Maroon 5. Featuring stars of Broadway’s smash hits Jersey Boys and Motown: The Musical, the Doo Wop Project brings unparalleled authenticity of sound and vocal excellence to recreate—and in some cases entirely reimagine—some of the greatest music in American pop and rock history!

Floyd Void Tribute to Pink Floyd

It’s a tribute performance honoring the Music of Pink Floyd. This extravagant show brings together all the elements of music, video, audio and light production to pay tribute to one of the greatest bands on earth. The music for FLOYD VOID is provided by: Andrew Kirby on vocals, keyboards, electric guitar and 12 string guitar; Doug Kunkowski on lead electric guitar and vocals; Kate Kirby on vocals an bass guitar; Clay Jurenka on Drums and Brenda Barber on vocals and percussion. Show starts at 8 pm. Doors ope at 7:30pm. The venue is a listening room in an old church built n 1922, complete with original pews. Seating is general admission, no reserved seats.

Davy Crockett Music and Arts Festival

We invite you join us at the 2019 Davy Crockett Music and Arts Festival. Originally, known as Davy Crockett Days, the Crockett Area Chamber of Commerce has joined forces with Piney Woods Fine Arts Association to bring Houston County this fun-filled family event. This year’s event will be held Saturday, March 30, 2019. The vendors market will take place from 10am until 5pm with 100 + booths. There will be music all day long on historic Camp Street as well as hundreds of Arts and Crafts booths surrounding downtown Crockett. A children’s area is always popular at the festival as well as the many fun booths! A paid concert will follow after 6 pm by featured guest artist, Wade Bowen down on Camp Street.  Don’t miss out on a delicious food, great music and incredible local artists from Houston and surrounding counties.

Waking of the Vines at Kiepersol

Science Day: Professor Newton

Come join us for a fun day of science at the Center for Earth and Space Science Education! We will have special science demonstrations from “Professor Newton” on Saturday, March 30 at 11am, 1pm, and 3pm. Admission to these performances will be FREE with purchase of exhibit admission ($3/person). See how much fun your students will have learning about science (and experiments they can do at home) with Professor Newton! You can reserve advanced tickets here.

True Vine’s 5th Birthday Party

Hoppy birthday to True Vine Brewing Company, Tyler’s first craft brewery is turning 5! Join them on Saturday, March 30th at 5 PM for a brewery birthday party! (no gifts required 😉) In addition to having our entire facility decked out birthday-style, they will also have FIVE local bands, FIVE special beer releases, FIVE beer stations, FIVe food vendors, a rock climbing wall and other surprises.

Card 53 Comedy Show 

Card 53 Comedy brings their unique style of improv “makemups” back to the stage of Liberty Hall. They are excited to create for you an experience like no other in Tyler, made up entirely on the spot based off your suggestions. There are two show times Saturday night. 5:30 and 8.

Disclaimer: Card 53 strives each show to be what they consider “clean-ish” however due to the unpredictable nature of improv they risk embarrassing their wives, girlfriends, dogs, employers, and total strangers with their unique style of improv makem-ups.

New York Philharmonic String Quartet

To commemorate the 175th anniversary of the New York Philharmonic, this phenomenal string quartet made its much-anticipated debut in Lincoln Center in March 2017. The members of the acclaimed ensemble, all multiple prize winners, are Concertmaster Frank Huang, Principal Associate Concertmaster Sheryl Staples, Principal Viola Cynthia Phelps and Principal Cello Carter Brey. Their concert program for their evening in Tyler includes pieces by Haydn, Shostakovich, and Brahms. Expect an evening of magnificent music with the New York Philharmonic String Quartet!

This is an event for the entire family. Admission is FREE! Enjoy the festival, fly kites and play at the airport on Sunday March 31 from 11am – 4pm.
