Welcome to Tyler's first natural therapy Himalayan Salt Cave
VIDA Himalayan Salt Therapy & Spa brings the very first salt therapy experience to people of all ages in East Texas. Located in Tyler, VIDA has Tyler’s first natural therapy Himalayan Salt Cave. They offer halotherapy, also known as dry salt therapy, which is a holistic, drug-free, natural approach to mental and physical wellness. It’s also known for its many health benefits, including airway cleansing, congestion relief, skin refreshment and inflammation reduction.
“Getting away from the daily stresses of our fast-paced lives can be challenging, which is why we decided to bring salt therapy to Tyler,” said owner Claudia Oliva. “A 45-minute session in the salt room can help reduce stress and improve quality of life. People with respiratory illnesses such as allergies and asthma can benefit most, as salt therapy provides relief by breathing in the rich, salty air.”
So how does it work?
Vida’s salt room uses high-quality pharmaceutical grade salt that is known to help strengthen a person’s immune system by allowing the body to naturally heal itself. This type of therapy offers a variety of benefits for respiratory illnesses and injuries, helping to increase lung capacity, cleanse and detox the lungs, and promote better breathing.
“Our salt cave is actually a little over 320 square feet of [Himalayan] salt,” said Claudia. “Bricks cover the entire wall, from top to bottom. We have almost 3,000 pounds of granulated Himalayan salt on the floor, and we have our halogenerator that blows microscopic salt into the air.”
Owners Gustavo and Claudia Oliva learned about salt therapy in their hometown, Las Vegas, NV, and were regulars at their local salt room. When they relocated to Tyler and could not find salt therapy nearby, they knew they had to bring the experience to the city.
“It has been a true labor of love seeing our vision come to life these last few months and we hope this beautiful facility will bring value and pride to Tyler,” said Gus. “We have worked day and night to cut and lay each and every salt brick on our walls and we cannot wait to open our doors and share the salt therapy experience with local residents and visitors alike.”
A typical visitor experience in the salt room includes a 45-minute session in the room, where guests will be handed a sleep mask and hear relaxing music. While in the room, guests will breathe in the salt that is being disbursed by the halogenerator – the heart of the dry salt therapy experience – which grinds and disperses salt into the room. Guests can remove their shoes and dip their feet into the salt sand, which can provide additional detoxing effects and the ability to reconnect to the earth’s healing energy – also known as grounding.
Halotherapy sessions start promptly on the hour, every hour. First time guests are encouraged to arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment to fill out a waiver and enter the room on time with the group.
“Right now we are taking walk ins,” said Claudia. “We do have multiple chairs in the room and there’s usually always space for people to come and just walk in. Otherwise, we do have a website that you can request an appointment, or you can call or text.”
A regular 45 minute session is $35.
