Lacy’s Bridge

Visit this graffiti-filled, possibly haunted, bridge that’s tucked away in the piney woods of Jefferson, TX. Legend goes that Lacy’s ghost strolls the river banks below in the evening.

The Jefferson Palace Hotel

Where: 124 W Austin St, Jefferson, TX, United States, 75657

There might not be a single other building in East Texas as spooky as this beloved hotel. For generations, brave guests have shared their experiences of ghoulish encounters within the rooms and hallways. The hotel has also embraced this supernatural popularity with tons of out-of-this-world decorations all throughout the property.

The Excelsior House Hotel

Where: 211 W Austin St, Jefferson, TX, United States, 75657-2253

Being the oldest hotel in all of Texas, this destination has seen many travelers from all over, including the likes of Ulysses S. Grant and Steven Spielberg. It’s rich history is also filed with spookiness, like the headless ghost that is said to walk the 2nd floor.

Oakwood Cemetery

Where: 643 N Main St, Jefferson, TX 75657

The resting place of over 3,000 souls. Established in 1846, this location is one of the oldest cemeteries in all of East Texas. Among those buried here include the piney woods outlaw, known as Cullen Montgomery Baker, and Diamond Bessie, whose murder grew to major fame in the late 1800’s. It is said that she haunts this site.

The Grove

Where: 405 E Moseley St, Jefferson, TX 75657

This local Victorian home has witnessed its fair share of paranormal activity. While this East Texas home has changed ownership many times over the generations, the haunts remain the same. Tour this spooky abode and discover each and every account that reveals what’s possibly living on “the other side.”

The Historic Kahn Hotel

Where: 123 W Austin St, Jefferson, TX, United States, 75657-2201

This famous saloon turned hotel has considered a top-10 haunted inn to visit in the whole state! It’s violent, 1800’s history has left a creepy presence that gests have claimed to feel during their visits. They also serve up a good coffee to help keep the spirits away.

A Most Peculiar Halloween

When: Every Thursday, Friday & Saturday in October
Where: After Dark

This is an immersive Halloween experience inside one of Jefferson’s historic homes, where you won’t simply watch from the sidelines. What awaits inside? We think some things are better left a surprise. $20 single tickets. $30 for two. Walk-ins welcome.

Texas Bigfoot Conference

When: October 16th and 17th | 7pm
Where: Jefferson Tourism & Visitor Center

2 day event! Speakers, meet-and-greets and dinner. Established in 2001 as the original annual Bigfoot Conference in Texas by the Texas Bigfoot Research Center.

Witches Dance

When: October 23rd, 24th, 30th & 31st | 6:30pm
Where: Made in the Shade, Jefferson

Dancing benefits Friends of Jefferson Animals.

Downtown Halloween Trunk or Treat

When: October 31st | 11am-2pm
Where: First National Bank, Jefferson

Fall, History, Haunts and Legends

A biannual event that features special guest speakers, celebrity ghost hunters, vendors, night tours and investigations. A fun event for the avid history buff, ghost hunter and those who enjoy stories of the unexplained.
