When Chad and Rachael Reeves moved to Longview in 2015 they had a vision of bringing a community together through a coffee shop. But God’s plan for them tasted a lot more like snow cones, so Shivers Natural Snow was introduced to the East Texas community that summer.
The Reeves agreed that they’d keep the snow cone stand open for a few months, then find careers. Sure enough, more than 5 years later, that same snow cone stand grew into three locations and Shivers is now their full-time jobs.
What makes Shivers Natural Snow different than many other similar business is they make each and every syrup from scratch. It starts with fresh fruit, then it’s pureed and made into the delicious syrup varieties.
The menu includes your classics like Blue Raspberry, Bubblegum and Grape. But their more popular flavors include The Brown Cow, The Honeymoon and the Strawnilla. The Brown Cow (Chad’s favorite) is local East Texas cold brew coffee with homemade sweet cream, topped with whipped cream and a chocolate, caramel drizzle. The Honeymoon is pineapple and cream of coconut. And the Strawnilla is strawberries with a hint of vanilla.
Rachael’s favorite is the Sour Flower which is made with fresh squeezed lemons and a Hibiscus Drizzle (YUUUUMM!!). Off the menu, you can always find their changing ‘pop-up’ flavors. These are sometimes inspired by customer or employee suggestions and they aren’t permanently part of the menu but they’re too good not to share!

What’s great about Shivers is that they change with the seasons. So when fall rolls around, the summer flavors will take a rest and Caramel Apple, The Great Pumpkin and S’Mores Please with marshmallow drizzle come out. To see their entire menu click here.
